Saffas Abroad: Bordeaux bulldoze Montauban



The heavy-hitting Bordeaux Begles trio of Carlu Sadie, Tiaan Jacobs and Rohan Janse van Rensburg ran riot against Montauban as South Africa’s foreign legion impressed in the third round of the Top 14.

Three South Africans started for Bordeaux in their devastating 71-24 win against newly-promoted Montauban. Springbok centre Janse van Rensburg marshalled the midfield, while tighthead Sadie and flanker Jacobs were busy around the park for the Champions Cup holders.

Former Stormers and Sharks loose forward Sikhumbuzo Notshe ran out at flank with JT Jackson featuring off the bench and scoring a try for Montauban.

Former Eastern Province Elephants lock Janse Roux started for Lyon in their 42-37 win against Stade Francais at the Stade de Gerland in Lyon.

Herschel Jantjies made his first start for Bayonne in a chaotic 48-17 loss to Castres Olympique that saw both Bayonne props sent to the sin bin in the second quarter.
