ActionSA in Johannesburg has expressed disappointment over the reinstatement of the Patriotic Alliance’s (PA) Kenny Kunene as a City of Johannesburg councillor.

PA leader Gayton McKenzie announced that Kunene has been cleared of any wrongdoing in connection with the alleged criminal syndicate led by Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe.

Kunene was found at Molefe’s home when police went to arrest him for his alleged involvement in the 2022 murder of DJ Sumbody.

ActionSA caucus leader in the city, Marcel Coutriers says the people of Johannesburg deserve better leadership.

“His comeback will certainly not go unnoticed and while he may try to project confidence and control, the truth is that a dark cloud will forever hang over him. This cloud represents the questions of credibility, accountability and integrity that continue to shadow his career. The people of Johannesburg deserve better leadership.”
