PA clears Kunene of any wrongdoing – SABC News
Patriotic Alliance (PA) Deputy President Kenny Kunene can breathe a sigh of relief.
This after his party cleared him of any wrongdoing following an investigation into his alleged criminal connections.
Kunene was investigated after he was found at the Sandton home of Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe in July, when police showed up to arrest the controversial businessman.
Molefe is accused of masterminding the 2022 murder of musician Oupa Sefoka, known as DJ Sumbody, and two of his bodyguards.
Kunene will be allowed to participate in his party’s activities again.
This comes after PA President Gayton McKenzie communicated that Kunene had been cleared by his party.
“I have never doubted…you know what to do,” says McKenzie explains.
Kunene was investigated by his party after he was found at Molefe’s home during a raid two months ago.
He later resigned as a councillor and Transport MMC in the City of Johannesburg but maintained his innocence, saying it was coincidence.
The party says it had to act for the sake of transparency.
“He had no business being there with us,” says McKenzie.
Now that he has been cleared, PA wants Kunene back in office by next week.
