Brettski swaggered into the Neon Mirage Casino just after dusk, his mirrored shades catching every strobe of electric promise. He was on a mission: test the top 10 most popular slot machines, document the madness, and maybe—just maybe—get lucky.

Machine #1, *Buffalo Gold*, hit him with a minor win—$43.20. “Cute,” he muttered. #2, *Lightning Link*, gobbled his twenty in seconds. By the time he reached #5, *Wheel of Fortune*, he was down $127 and losing faith. But then *Dancing Drums*—Machine #6—erupted in a cymbal-crashing frenzy, shooting his credit balance to $500. “We’re back, baby!”

He spun Machine #7, *Dragon Link*, with trembling fingers. The screen lit up with three glowing orbs. Bonus round. “Hold and spin,” the machine chimed. Brettski held his breath—and then it happened. A black symbol appeared. Not gold. Not silver. Just… black.

The machine glitched. Lights flickered overhead. Slot attendants looked confused. “Sir, that symbol doesn’t exist,” one muttered into a radio.

Machine #8, *88 Fortunes*, wouldn’t accept his ticket. Neither did #9. Only *#10—Money Train 4*—glowed invitingly, its screen pulsing with the message: *DESTINY AWAITS.*

He sat down, heart thumping. The reels spun wildly on their own. Symbols he’d never seen—keys, eyes, ancient scripts—blurred together. A bonus triggered. The screen cracked. Not graphically—literally.

Smoke puffed from the machine. Brettski stood, backing away. A hidden compartment opened with a soft hiss, revealing a velvet pouch.

Security closed in. Lights dimmed. Every machine in the casino went dead.

A voice crackled over the intercom:
**“Step away from the Money Train, Mr. Brettski. You’ve seen too much.”**

He turned to run—
And the floor beneath him dropped open.

Darkness swallowed him whole.

To be continued…
