Mopani police launch manhunt for murder, burglary suspects – SABC News


Limpopo police are looking for suspects involved in the murder and attempted burglary that occurred at a high school in Wisane village in the Mopani district.

Police say the armed suspects exchanged gunfire with on-duty security guards before fleeing the scene. One suspect was shot dead.

Suspected housebreaking tools, live rounds of ammunition and empty cartridges were recovered from the scene.

Police spokesperson Hlulani Mashaba says upon arrival, they met a school security guard who reported hearing noises from the administration block.

Upon arrival, they met with a security guard employed at the school who reported that he had heard noises coming from the administration block, and on inspection, he noticed three unknown men wearing balaclavas attempting to break into the office. The security guard allegedly fired in their direction using a catapult. Further inspection led to the discovery of an unknown African male lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest.”
