Thunberg sails with Gaza flotilla, says she’s not afraid of Israel – SABC News

Swedish activist Greta Thunberg says that she’s not afraid of Israel as she sails with the Global Sumud Flotilla towards Gaza, accompanied by many activists and lawyers.

The flotilla, which was struck by overnight drone attack earlier this week, comprises of around 50 civilian boats that carry essential supplies such as milk, baby formula, diapers, and medical equipment to support Gaza’s 2 000 000 residents living under siege.

Thunberg emphasises that although an international aid flotilla shouldn’t have to exist, it will continue its efforts to deliver humanitarian aid.

“We are continuing our journey towards Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid to a population that is being systematically starved as a continuation of decades and decades of suffocating oppression, apartheid and occupation. There are over 2,000,000 people who are living trapped under a siege and who are being systematically starved by Israel, and we are doing our bare minimum and stepping up to what our governments are not fulfilling their legal obligations to act to prevent a genocide.”
