KZN nanny arrested for allegedly stealing 9-month old infant – SABC News
A 35-year-old nanny was arrested this morning in Empangeni after allegedly stealing a nine-month-old baby in Durban.
The child’s mother came home on Saturday afternoon to find that the nanny had left with her baby but the suspect could not explain why.
Provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Paul Magwaza confirms that during preliminary investigations, it was revealed the nanny had informed her partner that the baby was theirs and he had allegedly been giving her R2500 monthly for child support.
“The infant was found unharmed and the suspect will appear at the Durban Magistrate’s Court tomorrow,” says Magwaza.
