Khumalo withholds evidence that may compromise investigations – SABC News

Crime Intelligence boss Lieutenant-General Dumisani Khumalo says there’s evidence that he will not be able to present before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, as it may compromise ongoing investigations.

The commission, which was established to investigate allegations of political interference and corruption in the criminal justice system, has entered its 8th day with Khumalo as the 5th witness.

Khumalo served as the former leader of the Political Killing Task Team (PKTT).

“In my affidavit is all the evidence that I’ll be able to share in the public hearing, but alongside this evidence, there is also considerably more evidence at my disposal that cannot be shared in a public space for the following reasons: sharing some of this evidence will expose our methodologies, it will expose our informants and the resources, taking also into consideration the current threat assessment,” he says.

He adds that there’s evidence that he will not be able to present in a public forum, as it may compromise ongoing investigations.
