Probe into deaths of Free State constables progressing: SAPS – SABC News
Police say investigations into the deaths of three young constables from the Free State are progressing. This after their family members have expressed frustration into delays in releasing a report that will shed light on what really happened to the deceased.
The bodies of Constable Keamogetswe Buys, Constable Boipelo Senoge and Constable Cebekhuku Linda were retrieved from the Hennops River in Centurion in April.
This after they had been missing for a week.
National Police Spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says they are still waiting for the final report.
“Preliminary postmortem reports have been received, but the final report, which includes blood alcohol results, toxicology and histology are still awaited. These findings are critical before investigations can be concluded. In addition, analysis of physical evidence is still underway. The process is complex as SAPS relies on specialists for certain examinations. While the SAPS accident report has been finalised, it is not in itself conclusive,” says Mathe.
