Ground crew deployed for wildfire at Deer Park – SABC News

Authorities at the Table Mountain National Park says they’ve deployed ground crews and aerial support to a wildfire that broke out at Deer Park in Cape Town.

The fire is moving in the direction of Devil’s Peak. Authorities say the fire is spreading rapidly due to extreme heat and low humidity.
Several trails have been closed.

Access to the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway via Tafelberg Road remains open at this stage.

Meanwhile, a team of firefighters will remain in Camps Bay to monitor any possible flare ups, following a veld fire which broke out above the Pipe Track in the Table Mountain National Park on Monday.
