Vessels carry aid to Gaza intercepted and boarded by Israeli troops – SABC News

The Global Sumud Flotilla says several of their vessels have been illegally intercepted and boarded by Israeli occupation forces in international waters.

The boats are carrying activists, including former president Nelson Mandela’s grandson, Mandla, heading to Gaza in an effort to deliver humanitarian aid to the besieged enclave.

In a statement, the Global Sumud Flotilla says prior to illegally boarding the ships, it appears as though the Israeli naval vessels intentionally damaged ship communications.

They say this is an attempt to block distress signals and stop the live-stream of their illegal boat boarding.

The activists say multiple boats have lost communication and live stream coverage.

They added that they are working around the clock to ensure they account for all participants and crew.
