Radzuma sibling implicated in SAMWU murders parts ways with lawyer – SABC News
One of the three Radzuma siblings accused of killing two South African Municipal Workers’ Union (SAMWU) leaders in Limpopo in what is suspected to be related to VBS Mutual Bank investments, has terminated service of his lawyer.
This after citing lack of professionalism.
Percy Radzuma made an application to get a new lawyer saying the previous one, Advocate Ntsako Hlungwane, has not been consulting him for three months and that he is obsessed with social media.
The matter has been postponed to Tuesday to hear the application.
The accused are being tried for more than 40 counts, including the murders of SAMWU leaders, Timson Musetsho and Ronald Mani.
Musetsho and Mani were vocal against the Vhembe District Municipality’s R300 million investment in VBS Bank.
Advovate Hlungwane says there was a break down in the relationship with his client.
“My client wanted me to lie that he did not know anything and that was not the instruction he gave me initially. During our discussion after the postponement, he still stuck with his lies, saying that he wanted me to tell the court lies so that I could mislead the court. Maybe he thought this day will never come for him to get to the stand.”
Meanwhile in October last year, the court heard that heard that two of the Radzuma siblings were paid R150 000 for killing Musetsho.
