Ad Hoc Committee looking into Mkhwanazi’s allegations concludes deliberations – SABC News

Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee is closed to deliberations.

Members are now discussing the way forward after arguing that the committee should not be treated like a subcommittee of the Madlanga  Commission of Inquiry.

The committee was established to probe KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi’s allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the criminal justice system.

He is the committee’s first witness.

The committee’s Chairperson Molapi Lekganyane says, “We must get a report from the team because they are now back and I am releasing everyone not members of the committee so that committee can take a decision on all manners of proceedings.”
