Preparations are under way for the funeral of South Africa’s Ambassador to France Nathi Mthethwa at the family’s homestead at KwaMbonambi on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast.

It’s a hive of activity as people clean and paint the fence around the homestead.

The family is hoping to bury Mthethwa this coming Sunday.

Mthethwa died after falling from the 22nd floor of a hotel in Paris last week.

The family says the date for the funeral is subject to change, pending the finalization of the repatriation processes in France.

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli and MECs are expected to visit the family to pay their respects.
