South African activists, who were part of the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was intercepted by Israel, are expected to arrive in the country on Wednesday morning.

The activists were abducted in international waters while on their way to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. They arrived in Jordan on Tuesday after a few days in Israeli detention and are expected to land at the OR Tambo International Airport just after 9 am.

International Relations Minister Ronald Lamola has thanked all parties, both domestically and internationally, for ensuring the safe return of the South Africans.
