Defend ANC’s image, stop using its name in vain: Mbalula – SABC News
African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has called on party members to reject the use of the ANC’s name in vain.
The ANC Secretary-General has charged “not in our name” to those who use the name of the ANC to enrich themselves.
He delivered the keynote address at a service for the reburial of the remains of anti-apartheid activists Todd Matshikiza, his wife Sheila Matshikiza, and John Maroo at the Johannesburg City Hall on Saturday.
Mbalula says ANC members must be courageous enough to defend the image of the party.
“We must be bold to say to those who use the name of our movement to enrich themselves by stealing from the poor and committing criminal acts. Not in our name. Even if a comrade can be your best friend, your best relative, not in our name,” says Mbalula.

The remains of the three were repatriated to South Africa from Zambia and Zimbabwe recently.
