The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry says that it expects Crime Intelligence Head Dumisani Khumalo to return to the commission soon, to continue his testimony.

The commission resumes its sitting in Pretoria on Monday, following a weeklong break, after an abrupt adjournment due to Khumalo’s ill health.

The commission is set to rule on an application for a witness to have highly confidential testimony heard in-camera on Monday morning.

Madlanga Commission spokesperson Jeremy Michaels, “The South African Police Services is dealing around communication around his [Khumalo] health but certainly we have been in contact with them and that is our understanding that he is in the process of recovering.”
