Muzi Sibiya denies any involvement in Meyiwa’s murder – SABC News
Accused number one in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, Muzi Sibiya, has once again denied any involvement in his killing. Sibiya is the first witness to be called by the defence at the trial underway at the High Court in Pretoria.
He is alleged to have made one of the confessions following his arrest in May 2020 and is said to have pointed out the crime scene on the 5th of June 2020.
However, Sibiya maintains he was assaulted prior to the alleged confession.
He told the court that in 2019, he was questioned and assaulted by police officers, but was not charged then.
“They asked me what do I know about Senzo Meyiwa? I said I don’t know anything. They then said I killed Senzo Meyiwa. Then they kicked me and covered my nose with a plastic, and I couldn’t breathe.”
