Two people have been shot dead in Mitchell’s Plain on the Cape Flats over the weekend.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg says the attack is believed to be gang related.

Twigg says officers responded to a complaint of a shooting and found the victims with gunshot wounds to their bodies.

He says no arrests have been made.

“One victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel, while the other victim was taken to a medical facility for treatment where he later died. According to reports the victims were sitting on the pavement when they were approached by unknown suspects who shot them before fleeing the scene.”
