Score of drivers arrested for drunk driving over the weekend – SABC News


Twenty-seven motorists have been arrested for drunk driving in the Limpopo over the past weekend. The Limpopo Transport Department conducted an operation aimed at strengthening regulations on the roads. 

The department’s spokesperson Matome Taueatsoala has called on motorists to adhere to all road regulations. 

Taueatsoala says that the highest alcohol level recorded during the operation was 1.53mg/1000ml in the Mopani District.  

In a statement by Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety, they urge liquor outlets to work with government to keep roads safe by encouraging patrons to use alternative transport or designate a sober driver.
