Israel will achieve all goals of the Gaza war: Netanyahu – SABC News

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the Middle East country will achieve all goals of the Gaza war it had set out to accomplish.
Speaking at a state ceremony for fallen soldiers during the two-year conflict with militant group Hamas, Netanyahu also says Israel’s enemies learned that anyone who lifts a hand against it would pay a heavy price.
Israel’s government spokesperson says it was preparing for the reopening of Gaza’s Rafah crossing with Egypt to let Palestinians in and out, but set no date as it traded blame with Hamas over violations of the United States-mediated ceasefire.
A row over the return of bodies of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza retains the potential to upend the truce, along with other major planks of the plan yet to be resolved, including disarmament of militants and Gaza’s future governance.
Israel demanded that Hamas fulfil its obligations in turning over the bodies of the 28 deceased hostages.
