Matric Class of 2025: President Ramaphosa's words of encouragement for exam success

President Cyril Ramaphosa has called on the Matric Class of 2025 to seize their moment as they head into their final examinations, urging the cohort to “shine” and make the nation proud.

In a message released Monday, the President offered words of encouragement to the over 900,000 learners registered to sit for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams, set to begin later this week.

“You’ve got this, Class of 2025,” Ramaphosa said. “All your years and hours of progressing to this point in your education are assets that you can use to your advantage in these exams.”

Ramaphosa described the exams not only as an academic milestone but as a springboard to personal and collective progress.

“You’ve got this, Class of 2025. All your years and hours of progressing to this point in your education are assets that you can use to your advantage in these exams,” he said.

Ramaphosa acknowledged the pressure and emotional weight of the final stretch, reminding learners that challenges like stress and doubt were part of the journey.

“Each of you has grown intellectually and emotionally… your families and communities have followed your journey with pride and support. We are all by your side as you focus and persevere,” he added.

“There will be moments of stress and doubt – this happens during high-pressure situations. But we know the odds are in your favour.

“Reaching these exams is an achievement of which you can be proud, and which gives the nation the confidence that the Class of 25 will move our nation forward.”

Meanwhile, the Gauteng Education Department hosted the pledge signing ceremony at Vorentoe High School in Rossmore, Johannesburg, on Friday.

The 2025 Matric results are expected to be released in early January 2026.
