The Madlanga Commission has heard how fugitive, Lucky Molefe, who is wanted in connection with the assassination of Vereeniging engineer Armand Swart, is being hidden by the Big Five criminal cartel.

This is according to Witness B who says that police launched a manhunt for him in December last year, but he has not yet been found.

Lucky is Katiso “KT” Molefe’s nephew and according to Witness B’s testimony, he is believed to have ordered the hit on Swart.

Witness B says an intercepted voice note from Katiso Molefe’s partner, Fundiswa, states that the Big Five offered to take Molefe under their wing to ensure that the police don’t arrest him.

“Abobhuti, from my understanding now after investigation, I thought it’s the brothers – at that point I didn’t know who’s Abobhuti. I couldn’t understand whose brothers. But after the recovery from investigation, I learned that it’s the Big Five.”
