Razor loses another All Blacks assistant coach

The All Blacks are dealing with a second assistant coach departure since Scott Robertson took charge.
Jason Holland, who joined the All Blacks setup alongside Robertson after the 2023 World Cup, will step down at the end of the 2025 season.
Holland made his decision after the second Bledisloe Cup Test in Perth, with the players informed on Thursday as the squad assembled for their Grand Slam tour.
He will continue to lead the side’s set-piece attack and backs play on tour.

“It’s been a huge privilege to coach the All Blacks and represent New Zealand alongside some great people, both players and management,’’ Holland said. “Obviously I’ve been taking the time to reflect on what I want to do with my contract coming up for renewal.
“We’re a close group so this wasn’t an easy decision. I’ve coached with them all in various ways for a long time and we think the team are making shifts in the right direction. There are four Tests left, and I’m absolutely focused on helping this team to win in the northern hemisphere.”
Robertson paid tribute to his long-time ally.
“There’s a massive amount of respect for Jase in our group,” Robertson said. “While we’re disappointed, he has our support and we respect the decision he’s come to.
“Not only is Jase a great man, he’s a fantastic coach and has been dedicated to his role in this All Blacks team. A Grand Slam opportunity doesn’t come around too often and that’s where our attention is for the challenge ahead.”

Holland’s departure follows that of Leon MacDonald, who left midway through the 2024 Rugby Championship and is now coaching in Japan.
All Blacks Assistant Coach Jason Holland has confirmed he will finish his role when his current contract concludes at the end of the season.
Four more Tests to go and a few more attacking plays like this up his sleeve. Thanks for everything, Alfie 🖤 pic.twitter.com/siFru6k0rv
