Pandor calls for ongoing support for Palestine – SABC News

Former International Relations Minister Naledi Pandor has emphasized the ongoing importance of the Palestinian struggle.

She was one of the speakers at the 23rd edition of the Nelson Mandela Lecture in Sandton, Johannesburg, which focused on enhancing peace and cooperation.

Pandor further says that the calls for Palestinian freedom must remain a top priority.

“The question of Palestine is one of the most important questions of freedom and justice in our world today and it’s absolutely vital that we do not draw our attention away from the plight of the Palestinian people. And that we, as freedom loving South Africans, continue to argue for their freedom, for their self-determination just as Nelson Mandela did,” she adds.

Pandor has been speaking to the SABC on the sidelines under today’s theme to encourage global cooperation, and through that to build increased peace and security.
