England laid down a mark of intent at Twickenham as they outplayed the Wallabies for their first win of the November internationals.
The much-vaunted 20-year-old loose forward Henry Pollock came off the bench to score a crucial second-half try as England romped to a 25-7 win.
Steve Borthwick’s side controlled much of the contest but were left frustrated in a scrappy first half, taking only a 10-7 lead into the break thanks to Ben Earl’s converted effort and a George Ford penalty.
The Wallabies’ only spark came from winger Harry Potter, whose brilliant length-of-the-field intercept briefly lifted the visitors.

But England found their rhythm after the hour mark. Pollock crossed for his third try in just two Tests – backing up his stunning two-try debut off the bench against Wales earlier this year – to ignite the home side.

Scrumhalf Alex Mitchell and hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie added late scores to seal a comfortable win that underlined England’s depth and growing confidence heading into the rest of their November campaign.
