City Power expects full restoration for Bree Street by Monday
City Power in Johannesburg says it expects to fully restore power to an area on Bree Street in the city centre by Monday next week. This follows an explosion at a substation.
The power utility says electricity has already been restored to some customers.
Technical teams are on site to assess the damage that the explosion has caused.
In a statement, City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena states that they have restored most of the areas, especially around De Villiers Street, New Stock Exchange, Bank City and parts of Bree and Jeppe West towards Newtown and most of the streets in the CBD and also towards the East of Johannesburg are still affected and will remain off until repairs are done.
