Limpopo musician Shebeshxt expected in court following shooting incident
Limpopo musician, Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, popularly known as Shebeshxt, is expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
The 30-year-old is charged with attempted murder.
Chauke was arrested on Wednesday morning on two counts of attempted murder in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Polokwane last month.
According to Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the arrest took place at around 9:30 am during an intelligence-driven operation in the upmarket suburb of Bendor, outside Polokwane.
He explained that the arrest of the Ambulance hitmaker was connected to an incident that happened in the early hours of Sunday, October 19, along Witklip Street in Ladanna, near Polokwane.
“It is alleged that the suspect had a confrontation with another motorist, during which he fired several shots at another vehicle, injuring a 34-year-old male occupant, who was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries,” Ledwaba said.
The case, which was first opened at Westernburg SAPS, was later handed over to the Provincial Investigation Unit for further inquiry.
“Detectives successfully obtained a warrant of arrest on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, leading to the suspect’s apprehension,” he said.
During the operation, police also confiscated Chauke’s vehicles for forensic examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
