Limpopo musician Shebeshxt remains in custody over shooting incident
Limpopo musician, Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, popularly known as Shebeshxt, appeared in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday where he was remanded on custody.
The 30-year-old has been charged with attempted murder
Chauke was arrested on Wednesday morning on two counts of attempted murder in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Polokwane last month.
The Ambulance hitmaker was linked to an incident that happened in the early hours of Sunday, October 19, along Witklip Street in Ladanna, near Polokwane.
“It is alleged that the suspect had a confrontation with another motorist, during which he fired several shots at another vehicle, injuring a 34-year-old male occupant, who was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries,” said police.
The Regional Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Mashudu Malabi- Dzhangi said the musician is also facing other charges in a pending case including two counts of attempted murder, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and malicious injury to property.
The trial for the pending case is scheduled to commence from 17 to 19 February 2026 in the Lebowakgomo Regional Court. He is currently out on R5, 000 bail for the case.
Meanwhile, in the present case, the matter was postponed to November 21, 2025, for profiling of the accused and the possible addition of further charges.
