World leaders begin arriving in South Africa for G20 Summit

World leaders have started arriving in South Africa, ahead of the G20 Leaders’ Summit taking place in Johannesburg this weekend.

Among the early arrivals is Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who touched down at the OR Tambo International Airport on Thursday.

Australia’s participation underscores its commitment to strengthening global economic cooperation and advancing inclusive growth.

The Summit, hosted under South Africa’s G20 presidency, comes at a time of global uncertainty and the leaders are expected to focus on poverty reduction, sustainable development, and building resilience against economic shocks.

They will also deliberate on trade, investment, and strategies to address inequality in developing nations.
