Argentina did sign G20 declaration: Phiri

Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) Spokesperson Chrispin Phiri has confirmed that Argentina did sign the declaration adopted by the Group of 20 leaders.

He addressed the media on the last day of the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Sunday.

The Declaration was officially adopted on Friday after an overwhelming consensus was reached.

Phiri says Argentina voiced objections to some of the declarations, like they did in Brazil, but he says they did sign the declaration.

He also added that the Inequality Report did not appear in the declaration because it is a standalone report that will be presented to the G20 nations, but it is formally a report that the G20 nations will consider.
