Limpopo’s Transport department says more than 58 000 drivers haven’t renewed their expired licenses.

Department spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene is calling on the drivers to renew their licenses by the end of November.

Chuene is also urging motorists to ensure that their vehicles are roadworthy ahead of the festive season holidays.

“As we approach the festive season it is very important for vehicle owners to make sure their tyres are replaced if worn, their cracked windscreens are fixed, and their brakes, lights and wipers are in good working order and that your license is valid. Help us make this festive safer on our roads by making responsible choices, keep alcohol far away from the driver seat.”
