Matric exams conclude, results set for 13 January 2026 – SABC News


DBE spokesperson Terence Khala says rewrite opportunities for selected subjects are being offered to eligible candidates who missed papers due to valid reasons, with additional sittings scheduled under the Second Chance Matric Programme.

Results will be released on 13 January 2026, following marking and moderation overseen by Umalusi to ensure fairness and credibility.

DBE’s Terrence Khala, “This reflects the Department’s commitment to protecting opportunity, ensuring equity and maintaining the academic integrity of the NSC. The Department of Basic Education does also confirm that marking will commence from Monday the 1st of December across all designated centers in South Africa with more than 52 000 markers having been appointed nationally.”
