Judges Matter demands immediate suspension of Judge Portia Phahlane
Judges Matter is calling for the immediate suspension and removal of Pretoria High Court Judge Portia Phahlane.
Phahlane was arrested this week, together with her son Kagiso, International Pentecostal Holiness Church faction leader Mike Sandlana and his spokesperson Vusi Ndala.
They appeared in the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Pretoria on Wednesday on a total of 19 counts of corruption and money-laundering, where they were released on bail except for Sandlana, whose bail hearing will sit next week.
Judges Matter says its call for the removal of Phahlane strikes at the core of a judge’s duty to act without fear, favour or prejudice.
