Matlala’s appearance before Ad Hoc Committee a waste of time: NGO

The Activists and Citizens Forum (ACF) has described as a waste of time the appearance of businessman and alleged criminal cartel kingpin Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala before the Ad Hoc Committee looking into concerns around national security.
Matlala spent two days this week testifying before the committee investigating allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the justice system.
The ACF accused Matlala, whom it says is one key witnesses behind these allegations, of misdirecting the interaction with Parliamentarians with the aim to protect people who are behind his lavish life style.
“The appearance of Vusimuzi Cat Matlala was just a waste of time and tax payer’s money. He just came to the committee with a clear mission. He just made up his mind to use the tactics of misdirection, exactly the same tactics that Brown Mogotsi used at the Madlanga Commission. His mission was to protect his people in his corner, people such as Minister Senzo Mchunu and Deputy National Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya. He went all out to attack General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi,” says ACF spokesperson Dennis Bloem.
