Mashazi to return to Madlanga Commission followed by Mchunu
Retired Ekurhuleni City Manager Dr Imogen Mashazi expected to return to the Madlanga Commission on Tuesday morning.
Dr Mashazi has been grilled over allegations that she protected now-suspended Deputy Police Chief Brigadier Julius Mkhwanazi from any disciplinary action.
An IPID report that recommended that Brigadier Mkhwanazi must be charged and disciplined was referred to Advocate Keri Bahari, the head of the legal department.
Commissioner Sesi Baloyi questioned Mashazi’s decision to refer the report to Adv Bahari instead of HR.

Meanwhile, the testimony of police Minister Senzo Mchunu is only scheduled to begin on Tuesday at 14:00.
Mchunu, who is on leave of absence has been placed at the centre of the allegations before the Commission.
This includes his alleged links with attempted murder accused Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and his close association with controversial North-West businessman and political fixer Brown Mogotsi. Mchunu is expected to respond to allegations levelled against him in phase one of the Commission by various witnesses.
