Traffic on N3 heavily affected by storm in KZN
Several areas in KwaZulu-Natal have been affected by severe thunderstorms accompanied by hail and strong winds.
The severe weather conditions follow level 5 and 4 warnings for areas in the northern, midlands and coastal parts of the province.
Authorities say traffic flow along the N3, and other affected areas has been interrupted due to heavy hail.
“Dealing with a hail that struck parts of Dundee, Utrecht parts of the Midlands Howick and Pietermaritzburg. Teams are conducting assessments to get the full extent of damage that might have occurred as a result of the hail. When this hail struck it disrupted routes such as the N3 and a number of roads. Residents and motorists are urged to exercise caution and be patient on the roads,” says Spokesperson for the provincial department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Senzelwe Mzila.
