Mpumalanga court set to sentence farm owner, workers for murder

The Mpumalanga High Court sitting in Middelburg is expected to sentence a farm owner, his son and six farmworkers on Thursday. They assaulted and killed two men at the Pampoenskraal farm in Mkhondo in Mpumalanga in 2020.

The farm owner, Werner Potgieter, his son Cornelius Greyling and the farmworkers forced Sthembiso Thwala, Sifiso Thwala and Musa Nene into the boot of a car and took them to the farm where they assaulted them.

One of the victims survived.

The three men had been travelling to Driefontein to deliver groceries and money when their vehicle broke down before they were attacked.
