SA excluded from G20 Finance Meeting in US: Godongwana
Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana says National Treasury officials will attend the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank meetings next year, but South Africa will not participate in the G20 Finance Track Meeting on the margins of meetings in Washington, United States (US).
The US earlier indicated that it would not invite SA to the G20 meetings even though SA is a founding member.
Godongwana says Pretoria is not accredited .
He says, “I’ll be attending the springs meetings of the IMF and the World Bank, and indeed parallel to that there will also be a G20 meeting which we are not accredited to attend.”
