Constable Tlhonolofatso Machete was fatally shot by Sergeant Matimba Ngobeni. Ngobeni also took his own life.
The Machete family spokesperson, Matome Machete says she didn’t deserve to die in a gruesome manner.
“She was the female police officer in the family. We were still expecting to see more from her especially as young woman. So, we are deeply saddened as the family especially even the manner in which she was killed. She did not deserve to die like this or to lose her life to a person who is her ex-boyfriend. It came as a shock; we are still reeling. It’s still sinking in,” adds Machete.
