Emfuleni Municipality to implement planned shutdown of water in certain areas on Friday

The Emfuleni Municipality in the Vaal, south of Johannesburg, is expected to shut down the water supply in Bedworthpark, Sharpeville, and Vanderbijlpark Friday morning from 5am until Saturday morning at 10am.
The municipality says the aim of the shutdown is to improve plant reliability and efficiency at the Lethabo Rand Water Pumping Station.
Municipal spokesperson Mojalefa Radebe says water tankers will be dispatched to affected areas.
“During the shutdown consumers supplied from Sharpeville and Bedworth Park meters may experience low pressure and no water. The municipality will dispatch water tankers to affected areas, a detailed tankers schedule is available on Emfuleni municipality social pages.”
