Ekurhuleni pays tribute to rescue technicians who helped in floods

The City of Ekurhuleni has paid tribute to its Technical Rescue Technicians (TRT) who took part in two missions in Limpopo and Mozambique during the recent floods.
Limpopo, Mpumalanga and Mozambique were among the hardest hit, with scores of people killed and many left homeless.
The municipality welcomed back its seven technicians, who specialise in swift water rescue.
City of Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services spokesperson William Ntladi, “City of Ekurhuleni warmly welcomed TRT team back home from search, rescue and recovery mission in Vhembe District Municipality in Limpopo Province after it was ravaged by heavy downpours in the past several weeks. All seven team members had a warm welcome by the acting Divisional Head Lifty Ngoepe and Senior District Manager Training Academy and current SAESI President Theresa Geldenhuys.”
