Bodies of three Eastern Cape men found with gunshot wounds outside Butterworth
Eastern Cape police are investigating a triple murder after the bodies of three men with gunshot wounds were found at Tholeni Location near Butterworth.
According to police spokesperson Siphokazi Mawisa, the victims were between the ages of 35 and 44 and were discovered by a local resident.
Mawisa said the discovery was made early on Tuesday morning, shortly before 07:00, when the community member alerted authorities. Police who responded to the scene found the three men lying near Cunningham Bridge, each with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.
The motive for the killings remains unknown, and no suspects have been arrested at this stage. A case of three counts of murder has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.

The Eastern Cape police management has instructed the team not to rest until the perpetrators are arrested and brought before court.
