Club América won 4-nil against CD Guadalajara in the second leg of their Round of 16 series, winning 4-1 on aggregate, on Wednesday in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup at Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico.

Chivas won 1-nil at home in the opening encounter in Guadalajara, Mexico last Wednesday. The match was the third meeting in a week between the Mexican rivals, with the two meeting in league play on Saturday.

Brian RodrĂ­guez scored in the 6′ with a left-footed hit into the right-side netting, equalizing on aggregate.

Diego ValdĂ©s got on the board for Las Águilas in the 45′, slotting home a loose ball in the box. RodrĂ­guez created the chance with a cross into the box that was punched away by Guadalajara goalkeeper RaĂșl Rangel.

Alan Mozo was sent off in the 46’ after receiving a double yellow card, leaving CD Guadalajara with ten men.

Alejandro Zendejas extended the lead for the Mexico City side in the 65′, striking at the right post on a whipped-in ball from RodrĂ­guez.

Álvaro Fidalgo added a fourth in the 79’, striking inside the penalty arc to place the exclamation point on the ClĂĄsico de MĂ©xico victory.

The series win sets up another rivalry encounter for Club América, who will face fellow Mexico City club Cruz Azul in the quarterfinals.
