Malema demands free, quality education to restore dignity in schools – SABC News
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema says the youth should fight for the country and for quality education. He says this will ensure that the youths of 1976 did not die in vain.
Malema addressed the Youth Day Commemoration at King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal. The event also forms part of the EFF’s efforts to boost its support in KwaZulu-Natal, ahead of the 2026 local government elections.

Malema has called for free education for all.
“We want free education now. We want Wi-Fi now and food at schools now. We want teachers who are going to teach our children. And not who are going to rape our children. We want teachers who are going to provide quality education to the children of South Africa. We want functioning schools. We don’t want pit toilets at schools. We don’t want the schools that are not properly built. We want the schools that are properly built and that recognise and restore our dignity.”
