US President Donald Trump has announced that Israel had agreed to “necessary conditions” to finalise a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza. Trump said the pause in fighting would be used to work towards an end to the war.

He also urged Hamas to take the deal that could see all remaining Israeli hostages released after more than 630 days.

President Trump wrote on Truth Social that the co-mediators Qatar and Egypt would deliver the final proposal to Hamas, urging the group to take the deal, warning that it would not get better. “It will only get worse” (the latter in all caps).

Trump said his representatives had a productive meeting with the Israelis and that they had agreed to conditions to finalize a two-month pause, suggesting that matters could be heading in that direction if the two parties agree on new terms.
