A 37-year-old woman is expected to be back in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court in Cape Town today in connection with the kidnapping of a newborn baby at the Middestad Mall to apply for bail.

The incident happened last month.

She was arrested in Mitchells Plain two days after the infant was taken.

The baby has since been reunited with his mother.

The accused faces charges including kidnapping and obstructing the administration of justice.
