Traffic authorities in Limpopo say the R521 Polokwane-Dendron Road has been closed just outside Polokwane due to a collision between a tanker and a light delivery truck.

Authorities say the closure is a precautionary measure as a tanker is carrying flammable liquid, posing a risk of explosion.

Motorists travelling between Dendron and Polokwane are advised to use the Moletjie Road.

Transport authorities say further details will be available later.
