The national Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) Department says it’s determined to ensure the resumption of the delivery of basic services in the
Lichtenburg-based Ditsobotla Local Municipality in the North West.

Years of instability have led to the collapse of the delivery of services and financial management.

The council has re-elected Molefe Morutse as the Mayor, and Manana Bogatsu as Council Speaker.

National government representative, Kopung Ralikontsane says, “We are going to work with the district municipality and also the provincial representative and the national representative in our Ngaka Modiri District to ensure that we work together with them to strengthen collaboration both on our strength in terms of service delivery, but also on governance matters, to share our experiences.”
