Fuel prices to drop across the board from midnight – SABC News
Fuel prices will decrease across the board with effect from midnight.
The Mineral Resources and Petroleum Department says the price of both grades of petrol will go down by 51 cents, diesel by between 19 cents and 21 cents respectively, while illuminating paraffin by 1 cent at the wholesale price.
The department has attributed the decrease in the fuel price to lower Brent crude oil prices and the stronger rand against the US dollar in the period under review.
The department’s spokesperson, Robert Maake, says: “The following fuel prices will be effective on Wednesday, the 5th of November 2025. Both grades of petrol will decrease by 51 cents per litre, diesel 50 ppm (parts per million) will decrease by 21 cents a litre, and diesel 500 ppm will decrease by 19 cents a litre, and paraffin will decrease by 1 cent a litre. The maximum retail price of LP gas will decrease by 61 cents per kilogram country-wide and by 70 cents per kilogram in the Western Cape.”
